DO THIS COMPULSORY PSYCHOMETRIC TEST BEFORE 14 JANUARY!

Every year the Student Counselling and Development Unit (SCD) (in Building F18 on campus) get inundated with first-year students who require professional guidance before registration regarding subject choices and fields of study.

In order to streamline this influx of students in 2017, SCD implemented a system whereby the Admissions Office will have sent out a letter to prospective first-year students (only those who was granted UNconditional acceptance by the NWU) by the end of November with a personalised ID and internet link. This link gives you access to the psychometric tests that would take up about 90 minutes of your time. The tests that take your interests, aptitude and personality type into account must be completed and submitted electronically before 14 January.

Students who was granted UNconditional acceptance but did not receive this letter from the Admissions Office by the end of November may direct an e-mail enquiry to marelize.vandermerwe@nwu.ac.za

Please take note that (1) students who was granted conditional acceptance or (2) students who were placed on a waiting list will NOT receive this letter with the link to the psychometric test. Should you be accepted by die University at a later stage, you are expected to complete the test during R&O.

The rationale behind the testing is simple. When you join us in January and you require guidance, the results of your psychometric test will have been processed already – which will immediately enable the Student Counselling and Development Office’s capable staff (5 counseling psychologists, 1 industrial psychologist and 1 psychometrist) to assist you with the necessary expertise.

SCD will be closed from 16 December to 3 January. Before and after this holiday timeframe prospective students (who have completed and submitted the test) are welcome to make an e-mail appointment at marelize.vandermerwe@nwu.ac.za
